General F.A.Q.’s
- How long after the session can I expect to receive my images? You will return to the studio office approximately one week after the session for the viewing/ordering appointment and to obtain your images.
- What is a viewing/ordering appointment? A viewing/ordering appointment is when you will return, about a week after your session, to the studio office. A this time you will select your images, view the products and order anything additional from your session. You will also take home your flash drive on this day with the images you chose.
- Is there a deposit for the session? No…. there is not a deposit for the session. There is, however, a $100 booking retainer fee. This fee holds your date for the session and is non-refundable. (Sessions can be rescheduled or transferred.)
- When is the session package fee due? The session package fee is due the day before your session.
- Will I have printing rights for my images? Yes. You will receive an image print release, when you receive your flash drive, giving you permissions to print your images.
Maternity Session F.A.Q.’s
- When is the best time to do my maternity photos? Maternity images are best taken at 30-34 weeks pregnant. At this time most women are showing quite well and not terribly uncomfortable. However it is really up to you. If you would like to be larger in your photos feel free to wait a couple of weeks…. But don’t wait too long:)
- Am I able to come look at and try on dresses ahead of session time? Of course! We will get with you on scheduling you to come look at the dresses and try on until you’re happy with your selection a few weeks before your session. That way if you absolutely don’t find something you like we still have time to order something.
- Can I use some props in the session? Certainly. Lots of people bring their ultrasound photos or baby shoes, etc. for their session.
- Can my husband and children be in some pictures? Yes! We want them to share in the experience.
Newborn Session F.A.Q.’s
- When is the best time to schedule a newborn session? The best time to schedule your newborn session is in your 2nd trimester. This will guarantee you a place on my calendar. At this time your due date will be scheduled. Then once baby is born we will set the actual session date.
- How old should baby be for the newborn session? Your baby should be between 7-14 days old. (The earlier the better.) This allows me to achieve those curly, sleepy, dreamy poses you’ve seen. This is just a guideline, however. I’m able to photography newborns through 4 weeks of age. There is just no guarantee on the posing due to them being less sleepy and less flexible.
- Do newborn sessions really take up to 3 hours? Yes….for a full newborn session experience it will take up to 3 hours. This allows for changing of setups, feeding and changing baby, and rocking baby back to sleep….along with the actual posing and capturing of the images.
- What happens if baby doesn’t cooperate? If baby simply isn’t sleeping and we can’t get them into the particular poses we will resort to more of the swaddled images. Babies love to be swaddled and are typically quite content in the wraps. We will also capture some little personality shots:) Rest assured you will come away from your session with great images!
- Do I need to bring anything to the session? For the most part, no. Everything as far as the session goes will be provided. You only need to bring the items to take care of baby….diapers, blanket, food, etc. AND A pacifier is an absolute must. It is used to help settle baby into the poses. Even if you don’t intend on giving your baby a pacifier please bring one for the session only. If you forget I keep pre-sterilized/packaged ones on hand.
- Do you offer newborn “mini” sessions? Technically, no. A “mini” session is a session that takes place in a very very small amount of time and occurs in the same day as other clients “mini” sessions. It would be impossible to get any number of newborn images during that small amount of time. I do, however, offer limited edition newborn sessions for a couple of weeks every other month. These sessions last approximately one hour and include a smaller number of images all for a reduced fee.
- How and when do I inform you baby has arrived? I ask that you let me know baby has been born as soon as possible. Some, even do so laying in the hospital bed. You are welcome to simply text/call me (713-471-6089) or send me an email (littlewonders@recollectionroad.com) letting me know. This way I have ample time to fit you on the calendar in the recommend age range for baby.
