We are beyond thrilled, at Little Wonders Portraiture, to welcome our new makeup artist, of Daily Canvas Makeup, Natasha Welsh. Natasha will be available for our maternity clients, new mom’s, as well as other women who want to enhance their looks for their photo sessions. She has already been hard at work with some of our clients who were all very pleased.

Natasha is the owner and makeup artist behind Daily Canvas Makeup. Known for her signature soft glam style, she creates refined, camera-ready looks that enhance natural beauty while still feeling polished and elevated. 

After spending more than a decade in the corporate world, Natasha decided to make the leap in 2025 and follow her passion full time. A native Houstonian, she graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has called Kingwood home since 2020, where she lives with her husband, two energetic young sons, and their Weimaraner, Zuma. When she’s not working with clients, you can usually find her training for her next half marathon or cheering from the sidelines at her boys’ baseball and soccer games.

Natasha believes makeup should inspire confidence and creativity—not intimidation. While she values creating polished, wearable looks that help women feel their best in front of the camera and in everyday life, she also believes makeup should be fun. It’s your face, so it’s your canvas.

As a newborn photographer, I understand that welcoming a new baby into your family is both exciting and overwhelming. Many first-time newborn photography clients have questions about what to expect, how to prepare, and when to schedule their session. My goal is to make the experience stress-free while creating timeless portraits that preserve your baby’s earliest days.

First-Time Newborn Photography Clients Guide

One of the most important things to know is that newborn photography sessions are best scheduled during pregnancy. The ideal time to photograph a newborn is between 5 and 14 days after birth. During this stage, babies are typically sleepier and more comfortable in the gentle, curled poses that parents often love in professional newborn portraits.

For my first-time newborn photography clients, safety is always my highest priority. Every pose, prop, and setup is carefully planned with your baby’s comfort and well-being in mind. I am trained in safe newborn posing techniques and never force a baby into a position that is uncomfortable or unsafe.

Preparing for your newborn photography session is simple. I recommend feeding your baby shortly before the session begins at the studio and dressing them in loose-fitting clothing to prevent marks on their delicate skin. Parents can relax knowing that I allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and cuddling throughout the session. Newborn sessions are baby-led and move at your little one’s pace.

Many parents are surprised by how quickly their baby changes during those first few weeks. Tiny fingers, delicate eyelashes, flaky skin, and sleepy smiles are all details that disappear far too quickly. Professional newborn photography preserves these fleeting moments and transforms them into heirloom artwork that can be enjoyed for generations.
